Best. Term. Ever.

Posted January 25, 2009

My last term at university definitely qualifies as the best school term I've had so far. I got to hang out with some really great people and I was privileged and humbled to see God move in my dorm, even using me and some of my good friends as instruments in His work.

My friends and I had the great joy of meeting almost every single weeknight for about 3 months to pray for our dorm, for each other, and the world (and also just to hang out and encourage one another). That was definitely the highlight of the term for me and is something that I will always remember.

A lot of the prayer was in preparation for the two Sunday morning services that we planned and held for our dorm as well as a two and a half hour worship night. It was amazing to see how God worked through such simple things as a few services planned by a small group of students and it humbled me-and I know my friends Ben and Karl would say the same-that God would use such unworthy, broken people as ourselves. I think that one of the things we learned from this whole experience is that we don't see God moving among us because we do not ask Him to move among us. We have to be truly serious about seeking God and only then He will be found by us; only then will He come down from heaven and heal our dry and thirsty land.

In the future, I will look back to the term of Fall 2008 as a time when I saw God do a work in the lives of the people around me-I cannot doubt anymore that He does move in power, wherever we may go. Though the past term had many struggles and its fair share of bumps and pain (and my lowest term GPA so far, *smirk*), Fall 2008 will forever hold a special place in my memory, and for now, the title of "Best. Term. Ever."
